Tyra Robinson-Walker received a Master of Social Work degree at Indiana University in 2005 and her undergraduate degree from Illinois State University in 1991.
She is an experienced therapist with intensive practice in working with children, adolescents, adults, and their families in educational, psychiatric, community mental health, child welfare, and juvenile justice settings. She further is a certified parent instructor of the Redirecting Children’s Behavior Parenting Program and in addition has a positive approach to using strength based interventions.
As a staff member of Samaritan Counseling Centers, she is available for appointments at both the Michigan City and LaPorte sites.
Tyra is active in the community as a Commissioner for the Michigan City Human Rights Department, Mentor, and a committee member for Purdue North Central Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Annual celebration. Tyra is married with a blended family of four and is a longtime resident of Michigan City.
